For this important biennial gathering of 3,000 business leaders, members of the national organization Les Entrepreneurs et Dirigeants Chrétiens – EDC (Christian Entrepreneurs and Executives), met for its 31st convention, in Lille, from March 11 to 13, 2016. Lille’s agency attended this monumental event to be able to meet up with executives coming from the four corners of France.

Lille’s agency makes contact with business leaders

Louisa_standEDCAttendees were very excited about both the conference program and the conference location—Lille! Some of them were familiar with the area and its vibrant economy and others discovered it for the first time. A Lebanese executive even extended his stay to be able to spend more time learning about Lille and expressed an interest in creating a relationship between the northern part of Lebanon where his company is headquartered and northern France.

The conference allowed Lille’s agency to introduce its mission to leading French executives and tell them about the services its team is able to offer.

A unifying theme: executives bold enough to shake things up

The theme was Dirigeant & Dérangeant, the idea of bold management and the courage to show Christian leadership. Numerous speakers and attendees participated in the conference workshops. Those in attendance included Eva Escandon, CEO of the SMSM group; Louis Gallois, Chairman of the Board at PSA; François Asselin, CEO of Asselin; Xavier Huillard, President of Vinci; Jean Duforest, Co-founder and CEO of ÏDKids group and others.
Young executives added their voices to the discussions as well, including Soufiane Iquioussen, Founder of Garage Solidaire du Hainaut; Nicolas Macabéo, Territorial Development Manager of Mozaïk RH; and Julien Pilette, Managing Founder of Gecco.

Record attendance for the EDC

The regional EDC chapter was very pleased with the level of attendance seen at this Lille edition of this conference. “Close to 2,300 attendees out of 3,000 members is more than we had hoped for. This is the second time the conference has been held in Lille and it set a new record,” noted one of the organizers.
