Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in 2014

Share the article :

The Alliances network has defined Corporate social responsibility (CSR) as the responsibility that a company has for the impact of its decisions and activities have on society and the environment.

The challenges of CSR

According to the study entitled The Challenges to CSR and Sustainable Development in 2014 (Les enjeux 2014 de la RSE et du Développement Durable)*68% of large corporations agree that the lack of visibility into ROI associated with CSR projects is the main reason for their lack of success. However, corporate social responsibility has never been as important as it is today.

Sustainable actions are those that contribute to the company’s improved financial performance as related to environmental and social issues. Starting in 2016, in France, all companies with more than 500 employees must officially report on their CSR and this report is to be certififed by a third party (per the Grenelle Law). This will affect more than 2,000 companies throughout the country.

Best CSR practices in the Lille Metropolitan Area

Many companies have already chosen to pursue responsible development. The purpose of the “2014 CSR Trophies” was to encourage the growth of best practices by recognizing innovative companies in the Lille metropolitan area: Beecity, Neo-Eco Recycling, Textifloor, Lesage & Fils, Salti, Transports Depaeuw, Castorama, Mäder, Norpac and others.

The 2014 World Forum Lille on CSR is not to be missed!

Since 2007, the World Forum Lille has recognized the corporate best practices of SMEs and large corporate entities that carry out their commercial activities in a responsible manner. Focusing on CSR, this world economic forum will take place from October 21 to 24, 2014, and will offer participatory workshops and theme-based meals to encourage networking between responsible companies, specialists, NGOs and students.
